Lahun (for them) Competition

Brief : A competition concerned with creating a special space for working women at the University of Bahrain, and this initiative aims to:

  • Raising the efficiency of the educational environment to suit the needs of women as students, or administrative, Or academy.
  • Achieving a comfortable internal environment for women, So that it can work, And perform its functions efficiently and comfortably.
  • Supporting the vision of the University of Bahrain and the Equal Opportunities Committee to meet women’s needs and enable their advancement.

Initiative status: Completed

Participation details: As part of the initiatives of the Equal Opportunities Committee at the University of Bahrain, applications for a competition will be opened on 3/9/2023 to submit

  1. The general idea is to suit the academic needs of female and male students
  2. Drawing schemes
  3. 3D graphics
  4. Detailed drawings

Students and graduates of the University of Bahrain and students of other universities can submit their design concepts in the field of architecture, interior design, furniture and gardens that suit the needs of women in the educational environment in an area of ​​4 meters by 6 square metres, and send their contributions by email, along with the required materials, to Dr. Nihal Al-Mirbati.

Evaluation Criteria :

  1. Creativity in design concepts to suit women’s needs
  2. Analyzing design and research references and finding design dimensions that achieve parity and sufficiency in the educational environment
  3. Innovation and functional realism

13 projects were nominated for the second stage of the qualifiers, and three projects were selected for the first three places as follows :
